The B.C. government is slated to make an announcement on new funding for cancer care in rural communities, Wednesday.
Health Minister Adrian Dix is slated to speak at the Canadian Cancer Society in Vancouver at 3 p.m., to announce travel supports for cancer care in the province.

In his speech at the Union of B.C. Municipalities Conference last week, Premier David Eby said the province would be earmarking $20 million in funding for travel from rural communities for cancer care.
In a media release at the time the province said the funding would support the Canadian Cancer Society and Hope Air to help more people reach one of B.C.’s six BC Cancer Centres or 41 Community Oncology Network sites.
