Surrey Mounties are investigating a Wednesday morning shooting that injured two people inside a warming centre near 106th Avenue and King George Boulevard.
The incident happened just after 3 a.m., RCMP said in a press release.

The victims include a 24-year-old man who is known to police and a 57-year-old woman. Both were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and have since been released.
Initial indications are that the man was the intended target of the shooting, RCMP said.

“Surrey RCMP Serious Crime Unit has taken conduct of the investigation and remain in the area collecting evidence.” Const. Sarbjit K. Sangha said in a press release. “The investigation is in early stages, a motive has not (been) determined, however, it appears to be a targeted shooting.”
This incident is not believed to be linked to the lower mainland gang conflict.
