Saskatchewan’s budget expected to outline economic recovery from COVID-19 pandemic

Moe promised during the 2020 provincial election to balance the budget by 2024.

“It is still entirely possible that the budget is going to balance by 2024,” Moe told The Canadian Press last month.

“You aren’t going to see that in the fiscal forecast, but we need to understand also that the revenue variability that we will see over the course of the next three to four years is going to change, and it’s going to change drastically.”

Finance Minister Donna Harpauer has also previously hinted that it will be tough to eliminate the province’s deficit by 2024, pointing to the slow economic recovery from the pandemic.
