Several detained at same Vancouver condo tower allegedly hosting ‘makeshift nightclub’

The Vancouver condo tower with a penthouse that’s allegedly been serving as a makeshift nightclub was the scene of a heavy police presence overnight.

Police escorted several people in handcuffs from the Telus Gardens at 777 Richards St. on early Sunday morning.

That’s the same building police attended last weekend, following a tip about a 100-person party in a penthouse suite, in violation of COVID-19 restrictions.

Police issued $2,500 in fines that night but did not actually access the unit, citing the need for a warrant.

Police have not yet said whether this weekend’s presence at the building is related to alleged partying in that penthouse.
